Pook Bear Country Cooking: Savory Southern Comfort in Sanford, FL

I LOVE the breakfast and service here! The food is excellent! The owners are always courteous and they make the perfect Pink Lemonade! They cook your food JUST the way you want it. There's not a very long wait. I call the owner that takes your order, Ma. She is a very nice person and she makes me laugh! Even though I don't go there all of the time, when I do go, she remembers what I love to order. She also remembers my name! She sees 100s of people daily and she knows them all. This is a great restaurant and ad you WANNA eat THERE she will offer great table service! This place stays busy! I WISH that they will stay open all day!

Had the fried Catfish, with collard greens, cabbage with bacon, and rice and it was amazing. Well worth it.

Good breakfast excellent bacon and grits. No artificial sweeteners for coffee.

It was my first time trying Pook Bear after a friend told me about the place. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was absolutely the best I've ever tasted. The pink lemonade is also very good. I'll definitely be going back again soon.

I am a chef from out of town, I always look for restaurants that are off the beaten path. This was one of the best restaurants with homemade food that I have ever had. I strongly suggest everybody go here and try it. We got our food to go everything was homemade Good price simply delicious. I could not find one thing wrong with anything that we got. We purchased the meatloaf that came with rice, collard, greens, outstanding, sweet potatoes, Black Eyed Peas, outstanding, cornbread and they have a special sauce that is meat, ham, sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, and they put it in shrimp and grits, but I cannot eat shrimp so I wanted to try it and we put it on top of rice with extra meat and this should be a new menu item for them. The food was made to order. We only waited 25 minutes and we were on our way I didn’t get a chance to thank them or tell them how delicious this food was if you go to the zoo or ever go through Sanford I suggest you look at this restaurant and stop there. One of the owners was running the window and obviously the other one was this truly truly was an outstanding Food experience. .
